Yorkshire has been named best European travel destination at the World Travel Awards for the second consecutive year.
After enjoying huge success hosting the Grand Départ in July, Yorkshire was voted Europe’s leading destination by a variety of high end tourism consumers and travel professionals – beating 13 rival destinations including Venice, Paris, Berlin, London and St Petersburg.
The prize was awarded at the World Travel Awards – the Oscars of the travel industry.
The awards are intended to highlight and reward locations and travel brands considered to have made the greatest contribution to the tourism industry over the past twelve months.
Tourism is worth about £7bn annually to Yorkshire, with 216 million visits made to the county each year.
Living in this area of the UK is the perfect way to explore everything the county has to offer. The carefully sited and luxuriously appointed park homes on our multi award winning Badger Hill Park in Knaresborough are perfectly located at the heart of Yorkshire’s ‘Golden Triangle’.
The homes at Badger Hill form a warm and welcoming community of people who appreciate the comfort and ease of living provided by a retirement park home. The pride and gardening enthusiasm of this community has led to the park being named ‘Best Neighbourhood 2013’ in the Knaresborough in Bloom competition.
Enjoying the best of both worlds, the park is situated near an area of outstanding natural beauty with fantastic views of historic Knaresborough, while all the shops and amenities you could need are just a short walk away. The bus stop at the entrance to the park makes access to the major cities of Leeds, York and Harrogate completely stress-free.
With homes from £170,000 to £190,000 this is an exclusive park in an enviable location that is fully residential and only available to the over 50s.
