Rightmove have published a list of the top 10 coastal locations that have seen the greatest property price growth in the past year.
Increasing numbers of buyers opted for homes in locations close to the sea in 2021, a trend which is forecast to continue this year. Rightmove have compiled a list of the top 10 coastal towns and villages that saw the largest increase in asking price over the past 12 months, proving them to be highly desirable locations for people looking to move home.
Brixham, Devon
At number 9 on the list is Brixham, a fishing town in the district of Torbay in Devon, close to our own Haytor View and Devon Oaks parks.
The area is encompassed by the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and benefits from a harbour lined with colourful properties, pubs and restaurants.
The average asking price in Brixham is £299,127, with an annual asking price increase of 12%.
Preston, Paignton, Devon
Located in the northern part of Paignton in Devon, Preston takes the 10th spot on Rightmove’s list. Another small fishing village, Preston boasts its own high street and access to two picturesque beaches; Paignton Sands and Hollicombe. Offering plenty of green space, Preston is just 12 miles from Dartmoor National Park.
