Bittaford Wood Park Homes – where art meets life

J Turner, one of our greatest romantic landscape watercolour painters, has been brought to the biggest canvas of all by British film director Mike Leigh. With Timothy Spall in the lead, Leigh’s biographical drama tells the story of Turner who’s timeless works of art are very close to home for some Barton Park Home residents – literally!

Turner’s 1813 watercolour Ivy Bridge, and the bridge after which Ivybridge is named, is the nearest town to our very own Bittaford Wood. Situated in one of the most beautiful parts of the country, sitting in Dartmoor National Park, Bittaford Wood Park Home residents enjoy retirement living surrounded by the wonders of nature which even includes wild deer wandering the local woodlands.

So we’d like to wish Mike Leigh, Timothy Spall and the rest of the cast every success with the film although we’re pretty sure they’ve already got a hit on their hands!
